Cycle syncing & work with naturopath Kailene Watts

We sat down with Haelan Naturopathy to discuss all things cycle syncing & work.

As a woman, we know that our cycle can influence how we play, rest, work & feel. Which sometimes means we need to go about our days a little differently.

Kailene has broken down our 4 phases so that you can be the most productive at work while nurturing your inner self.

Phase 1

The follicular phase (prepare). Day 1 to 10-14. We start the month with the lowest amount of hormones, oestrogen slowly rising, unlocking our creative superpowers. Time to be creative! Dream big, brainstorm, initiate, prepare, and plan. Research, be curious, explore, interview people, take courses, gather resources, and chart your strategy. Clarify your vision and get new projects off the ground. Fill in your planner with what you want to accomplish in the coming weeks. This is the time to try new things, put yourself out there!

Phase 2

The ovulatory phase (open up). Oestrogen & testosterone have hit their peaks! It’s time for communication + collaboration. Socialize, pitch ideas, and be seen. Talk about your plans, collaborate with others on projects, schedule dates and meetings, go to lunch with girlfriends, host a party, and connect with others. Have important conversations. Your brain chemistry during this phase heightens your verbal skills, a great time to face tricky conversations or confrontations; ask for that raise! Your energy is magnetising!

Phase 3

The luteal phase (work). Progesterone is at its peak, it’s time for completion, nurturing and tending. This is your get-it-done phase! Don’t procrastinate. Accomplish the projects and goals you planned during your follicular phase. Feel good about wrapping things up. Attend to your home, finances, & administrative tasks. Do your deep work. Celebrate how powerful you are!

Phase 4

The menstrual phase (rest): Hormones at their lowest. Your right & left brain are communicating much more powerfully. You are able to access analytical & intuitive reasoning. Relax & reflect on the past month. Be kind to yourself as you review all the good things you’ve accomplished. Trust your instincts during this phase. What is your gut telling you? Spend time journaling, reviewing, and noting what you need to let go of or what might need to shift. Use this as a starting point for setting intentions for the 28 days ahead.

With all this in mind, business owners & employees must have an open dialogue about how to structure the workplace to get the most out of the working days. Creating a nurturing and supportive environment will positively impact your clients and the success of your business.
